Hlemmur.haus is opening on October 1st 2025. We offer affordable spaces and the opportunity to shape a new creative community on Laugavegur 114-116.

Who is it for?

We are a space for creative people. Our members are musicians, writers, designers, developers, film makers, artists, entrepreneurs and so much more.

Our members make us who we are. As a member in our new location you will get a chance to shape our new community from a blank slate to vibrancy.

We’re not looking for people who just want to rent an office (although that’s part of it!), we’re looking for people who want to participate, who understand the importance of a shared experience and will do their part in building something unique for everyone who joins.

We’ve done this before, we have a pretty good idea how to do it again but it will take time. Not everything will work perfectly from day one. We’re building the plane while flying it so we need people who are in it with us.

  • Our application deadline has passed but you can join our waiting list in case anything opens up.

  • We’re a non-profit. Our only priority is to create affordable spaces and a welcoming community. Our prices are as low as we can possibly get them.

  • The deadline was September 15th.

  • Most of them are in the 10 sqm range. Some are slightly smaller, a few are up to 40 sqm.

  • Our mission is to create a vibrant space for creative people.

    Applications will be judged on several criteria, among other; the connection to the creative industries, diversity of members and whether your intended operations fit in the hub.

    We’re looking for people who will actively use the Haus for their creative work on a daily basis and are interested in participating in building our community.

  • We currently don’t have any open hours.

  • If your application is approved the start date is October 1st 2025.

  • We expect to fill up quickly.

    We start paying rent to our landlord on October 1st so we will prioritize people who are able to take their space on day one.

  • We will notify the first batch of people on or before September 22nd.

  • All members have access to all of our facilities, internet, free coffee, locker space, all events.

  • We’re not an office hotel. Our prices are set as low as possible. We offer some assistance with some things but mostly you will need to figure out how to do your thing.

    We encourage self initiative and invite our members to take an active role in shaping their surroundings and the community.

  • Yes! All of our members have access to both of our locations. We’re one community in two locations.

  • The previous tenant moved out because of mold. Since then there has been significant work done to fix this issue. New reports from mold professionals confirm that the house is safe.

  • We’re able to provide below market rates because we offer a temporary solution for building owners looking to change their buildings in the future.

    Our initial contract is for the coming 2 years.
